Since updating my Versa 2 the GPS on my watch is no longer connecting to my phone. It is syncing all the data from the watch however when I go for a run or hike the GPS does not track my route nor will it connect.
If I hit the activity button from the phone and run my activities from there the GPS works fine however does not track my HR or Zone minutes, so I can have 1 or the other 😞
Help!

Hi @Asherarnold86, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post. To better assist you with this uncommon situation, can you please let me know which phone are you using with your Versa 2? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? In the meantime I receive your answers, please restart your device and let me know if the issue persists.
Looking forward to your reply.

I just wanted to add a me too!
Versa 2, Samsung S20+.
Was working okay, other than the occasional glitches for some time. As of the latest update I am no longer able to track using Connected GPS from the Versa 2 itself. Just does the `connecting` nonsense forever. If I open the app and go to track, I'll see it has no GPS at first, then changes to green, and a tile pops up saying it's running connected GPS. If I start the activity from the watch, when I finish it, I have a map with either a dot or a short line, not the actual track.
If I track from the phone directly, it seems to work okay, but of course, you lose other metrics.

Just in the last few days I have experienced issues with my Versa 2 not finding a GPS signal. I have a Samsung A50 phone and up till now, my phone and the Versa 2 have performed flawlessly. I have restarted both devices several times but once I start the "bike" exercise on the Versa 2, while it initially connects, it soon gives me a "No GPS signal" message. I love my Versa 2 and having the ability to track many types of activity but am discouraged with its functionality if it can't get a GPS signal.

I'm having the exact same issue. This started a few weeks ago and intermittently worked and now I get "connecting" endlessly

So it looks like this may have been caused by Samsung's Sept security update. Saw some chatter in other threads about the allow location access being set to only when using app, and sure enough, mine was as well. Set it back to always allow, and rebooted the phone & fitbit for good measure. This morning's run was setup from the fitbit, and when completed the map and all data appeared as expected.
In case you don't know where to look, go to the phone settings -> apps -> fitbit -> permissions -> location.
I also found that my microphone didn't have access, which I assume would make voice replies not work.

Thank you for this info. I was having the same problem. I don't know which update changed that on me, but, I just did a quick 3 minute test and it seems to be working again.

Thanks from me too. On my S10, the location had ended up set as only when using the app - changing it to always and I'm now getting maps for my walks again!

Lets add another me too. Maybe this is not so uncommon with Samsung devices as my wife has the original versa and I the versa 2. We both have this issue. We spend more time trying to get our phones connected before we exercise only to find out the gps didnt track our routes.

2021 and still on occasion had this problem, until I saw DizkoDan's solution. Somehow the Fitbit app had been switched to use location only while app is running. When in doubt, check the app permissions, now it seems to be working fine!
