@DxPxGxLxS, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa 2 since it's not showing our stairs climbed.

Please check out this help article which explains how your Fitbit device tracks floors. In case the floors are still missing, try changing the clock face to one that shows the floors stat. After this, monitor your watch and see if your floors climbed show properly.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

@jlpedersen, thank you for joining our Fitbit forums and thank you for getting back @DxPxGxLxS. By the way, I'm sorry for the late response.

I appreciate the time spent trying the recommended troubleshooting steps. Since the issue persists, I'd like you both to try one more workaround that has been helpful for this type of issues. Please try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Sync your watches before this in order to avoid losing current data and see if the issue gets fixed.

Let me know how it goes.

I looked at how it works before I posted the first time my versa2 had been counting the floors the same as my last versa then it just stopped counting properly. Im feeling rather disappointed with it as I had no issues at all with the last versa I owned.

While I like the Versa 2 overall, I am extremely disappointed to find that it intermittently, but regularly stops logging flights of stairs climbed. Resetting or restarting the device helps briefly, but I have frequently had to do this 2-4 times over an hour-long "session".  I climb 175-200 flights every morning and have lost anywhere from 10-30 each time unless I check the watch after each flight and reset when it stops.  I haven't noticed this with the other exercises I do, just the stair climbing.  I've read the referenced article (no help) and tried other watch faces (ditto), so I'm hoping a future firmware/software update willy fix this.  For now I have reluctantly gone back to using my Charge 3 as it has always been accurate.  This is unfortunate since the Versa 2 is a nice watch/tracker and it was a gift - it's a shame not to use it.

In addition to posting here I've also spoken to two women with Fitbit Support. One mentioned that the Versa 2 shouldn't be too tight on my wrist (it isn't), but she also said that counting flights of stairs may be effected by moisture. My daily routine includes one hour or more of climbing stairs (not a stair stepper) and I do perspire once I've warmed up so, out of curiosity I placed a folded piece of paper towel under the watch at the beginning of my stair climbing and, surprise, the count was accurate over the whole hour. I did this for several days with the same results. As a check, I tried NOT using the paper towel one morning and got the erroneous counts I had gotten before. So, although I don't get the benefit of the heart monitor this way, it's more important to me to have accurate steps/flights data and I will happily continue to use my folded paper towel... One question though, if this watch/monitor is water resistant, why does a little sweat have such an impact? I'd really like to understand this better!

I'd be curious to hear Fitbit's input on this but I suspect it has to with how they are measuring stairs climbed.  My understanding is they are using changes in barometric pressure combined with steps taken to track stairs climbed.  Humidity has some impact on barometric pressure, so when you sweat my guess is it's throwing off the calibration.  That's my hunch at least.

I, too am having the same issue with my Versa 2.  I've changed the face twice and have done a factory reset and nothing has worked.  Hope you can help me out too.

I don't think it is only due to moisture. I've been up and down the basement steps 3 times today doing laundry. I don't normally sweat doing laundry. My Versa 2 shows zero stairs.  It has been counting about 50% of my stairs.

I totally agree! I'm the same way and it still doesn't register.

I have done the same thing with the same results. Bought my versa2 about 6 months ago, replacing the charge2. Was expecting at least the same performance considering versa2 costs about £100 more than its charge equivalent. Despite resetting several times and being on the third or fourth clock face, I apparently haven’t climbed a flight of stairs since the swap. Any help on this would be appreciated

3 fitbits no longer work because of discontinued.  1 fitbit stopped working correctly and missing steps so replaced 8 months later under warranty. Replacement started doing the same thing (no warranty on replacement).  Missed my stair from first one so upgraded again 5th watch 5 years). Wow now one of the bonus features, stairs, does not show unless I use one of the few that has it on the clock face.  Choices are: very large watch that shows everyone what my counts are and is hard to see the actual time. Or use my phone to see where my stairs are at (that also counts my steps). BUT don't worry there is a bunch of bonuses on the watch to keep life easier.  You just have to pay more than the watch and upgraded watch software to use.  So I keep fitbit because of history and I only have to pay $300-$400 a year to use to look at my "watch". (now I'm crying because I am realizing with fitbit, After 6-7 years, I will probably still have to find a different company and start over.

Should I try a factory reset if I have only had it 1 week? Really don't want to spend all the time getting everything done. Interest from owther to see if this works please.

Has anyone had luck figuring this out?  My watch just stopped counting steps last week.  I've had nothing but issues with my Versa2 for the last month or two.

Yes, lately I've noticed the same problem with my versa 2. This in addition to other issues like with my bluetooth and wi-fi disconnecting you not read connecting, Alexa not working half the time, never getting any messages are phone calls, having to restart the device to get anything working and wasting 20 minutes to turn on spotify, forget about caring headphones. This devices basically just a really expensive basic tracker.
