My first Versa 2 seemed stuck on telling me that I went to sleep at 1:30AM, or 1:32, or 1:28--even though I had been asleep for at least two hours. Wake-up times, perfect. Three calls to Tech Support, no solutions, so they sent a new phone. It does the exact same thing!
Anybody know what's going on?
I'm starting to wonder if I'm somehow the issue. Knowing the actual hours I slept--REM, Deep and Light sleep, Awake--are important to me.
Thank you!

Hi @rsmjr - check how your HR is behaving as it is used for sleep detection in conjunction with movement and position.
Also tattoos, if you have any, can be an issue and if so wear where there are none.
Generally sleep measurement is one of the better features so it could be how you sleep that is an issue and you may not be getting a long undisturbed night. If you wake well rested there may not be a problem.
For more information logout and login to the Fitbit App, click on the sleep tile and click on learn more under the graph.

Thanks, Guy! Sorry for the delayed response.
Puzzling, and a bit aggravating. My heart rate behaves fine: resting rate is/has always been within a few beats (relatively low; I'm a senior, an experienced road cyclist, and fitness guy, in "perfect" shape according to my primary doc).
No tattoos. (How I made it through six years in the Navy without one is a minor miracle.)
Last night I rebooted and fully-charged the watch; same with my iPhone. Result: No difference. The Versa 2 said I went to sleep at 2:11AM, which is about the time I woke up to pee! My wake-ups are infrequent and very brief--according to the Versa sleep graph.
I agree that I may be the issue. But what is it, and how do I fix it?
(Haven't subscribed to Premium, have you? If so, do you think it can/will give me relevant and useful info?)
Thanks again, Rick

Thanks again, Guy. Your link was informative, but my question/problem remain unsolved: my Versa 2 does not begin tracking my sleep until I've already been asleep for 2-3 hours (!), which makes sleep tracking pretty much useless to me.

@rsmjr- have you cleaned the watch, just in case it makes a difference.

@rsmjr- although it shouldn't make a difference, put the watch into scheduled sleep mode at night, it saves battery and avoids disturbances, you may get a deeper sleep and that might help.
What you should see is a distinct fall in HR when you go to sleep, compare that with the time it says you went to sleep / and when you went to sleep and see how it varies. This may give you some clues..

Guy, thank you very much for your continued support. Yes, I have done all of those things.
Re heart rate: I went through all (?) of the points yesterday with escalated tech support. My heart rate is pretty even. Evenings are usually quiet--we're retired--unless Eagles football is on. So, at bedtime, I'm already at or near my resting heartbeat. The Tech told me the FB sleep-score algorithm doesn't start until an hour (!) after it detects rest. Not good, I said, but okay, so why is mine 2-3 hours late? No answer.
Last night I tried the manual sleep mode. Great! Except it can't be saved or referenced.
Oh well ...
Thanks again,
Rick

Thanks, @rsmjr - it is not true that sleep doesn't start till an hour after - what may happen is it is not recorded as sleep in the app yet but the start time of the eventual sleep should be when you fell asleep. My watches have always been pretty accurate, so it could be you, of course, if the watch is working fine otherwise..
If there is no distinct fall in HR at sleep start time, may be try being a little active before bed, moving about so the HR is higher than RHR for 5 minutes before getting into bed [do not exercise though]. It will be easier to look for the fall in HR and the corresponding sleep time.
If this doesn't help you could try a tedious factory reset and set it up all over again but that is not without risk.

Hi Rick
My husband was having this problem with his and this may seem like an odd question but do you dream when you are sleeping? The reason why I ask is because my husband wasn’t because of sleep apnoea. He also snores very badly and I made him go to see the doctor about it. He now has a cpap machine and his Versa 2 tracks his sleep again. Basically what I am saying is make sure there aren’t other reasons why it’s not tracking it might not be the watch that’s the problem. If you don’t remember dreaming think about any other possible symptoms like do you feel tired in the day or fall asleep when you sit down to watch tv, that sort of thing and if there is anything get it checked.
