Versa 2 is tracking too many steps while I'm sleeping

Starting this week, I wake up with thousands of steps already on my tracker. I do not sleep with my tracker on, so I know I'm not sleep walking. What gives?

Hi there, @LeeAnn63 @Iluvsilver. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your posts about the inconvenience with your Versa 2 devices. I understand where your concerns are coming from.

I'm wondering if you are using another app connected to your Fitbit account that will add more steps? Mobiletrack maybe? Low-power step sensors inside your phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app. We recommend using MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.

Note that adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard.

Nevertheless, as @DramaQueenDiva has mentioned, if there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, or if your phone was vibrating during that time, that might have caused you to receive incorrect steps tracked.

If you want to negate the extra steps, please see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

Was it near anything that was vibrating at the time like a fan?

Happens to me as well but only on Friday nights!  This morning, 75k; last week 45k!
