Hello, @Mjow. Welcome on board. Thanks for the detailed information provided in your post.
As I mentioned above, have you checked if by any chance you're using MobileTrack along with your Fitbit device? MobileTrack is a feature that records basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors if you don't have a Fitbit device available. Nevertheless, if there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, or if your phone was vibrating during that time, that might have caused you to receive incorrect steps tracked.
One of the recommendations is to disable this feature by following the steps described in this help article and monitor your tracker's behavior to see if this has any relationship.
Also, as suggested above, you can negate the extra steps by following these instructions .

Hi there, @Godschildme. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums and sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 2. I understand where your concern is coming from.
I'm wondering if you're using another app connected to your Fitbit account that will add more steps? Mobiletrack maybe? Low-power step sensors inside your phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app. We recommend using MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.
Note that adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard.
Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
For additional information, see Does the wrist I wear my device on affect the accuracy? and What can I do if my step count seems inaccurate?
In order to negate the extra steps, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
Hope that helps.

I have this issue also, and it's been happening for a few months. Usually in the middle of the night after the click restarts to 0 steps, it somehow ends up 20,000k - 50,000k more by the time I wake up. This week, it has started at more than 90,000k each morning. This happens whether my versa 2 is charging overnight or I'm wearing it during my sleep. It doesn't do it every single day, but most days it does.
It says I can't have mobiletrack because I have an android phone. I also am unaware of any other apps that add to my steps. I don't see the correlation to my phone.
Please help!

Also, to remove activity, which it says you can't remove steps or floors, you have to know how many steps, and since this is random from fitbit, I wouldn't know what to remove, so that is not a viable option.
