Versa 2 microphone issue

I've had my Versa 2 since Black Friday and up until recently I cannot reply to texts or use Alexa unless I practically yell into the microphone. So far I've rebooted device, rebooted phone, synced several times. No luck. I see others are experiencing this so is Fitbit working on a fix?

Sorry that article does not help,its more for setting up and using Alexa. The problem is the microphone sensitivity is not what it was. I practically have to get right up to it and talk and that is hit or miss. If you search the forums here you will see others have this and have even gotten a replacement to have it go out too. Also, wife has same device, received it a few weeks after I did, and it's doing the same thing.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. I talked to Tech support and their response was to search the forums. Sorry but I bought the Versa 2 directly from Fitbit with the expectation of getting support from them if I needed to. I specifically bought it and the extended warranty from them, not a third party.

 

Anyway, I have to yell into the microphone with my mouth immediately next to the mic or it will not record.

It worked fine for the first month but not now. Bought on Black Friday.

 

The CS rep tried to blame it on the phone and a possible update which may be causing the issue, but as the original poster noted, this appears to be a very common issue.

Today is 21 days since I received my new Versa 2. So far the microphone has worked flawlessly. BUT I have not taken a shower with it. I truly think that may be the issue. I'm actually afraid to do it because waiting on a replacement kinda sucks lol.  I wish Fitbit would own up to the issue, or at least tell us the findings from the device I returned.

Mine has never been wet, I don't even do the dishes with it on.

Is your microphone still working today? Would you recommend contacting customer service and exchanging the device if someone is experiencing the same issue?

Yes contact support. No issues with my new one, but still no water.
