I was having problems not getting email notification on my Versa 2, read a couple of threads, which unfortunately did not fix my problem, so I tried this:
1) I sent an email from my iPhone that has the Fitbit app
2) Under "my account" I click on Versa 2
3) Click on Notifications
4) Click on App Notifications
5) Now the Mail icon appeared
6) Activated and Voila
Now I get my email notification, I hope this helps
