Versa 2 not receiving text message notifications only

I bought the Versa 2 at Christmas. It worked fine and now I'm not receiving text message notifications from my Samsung S10e phone.  All other notifications come through such as native calendar, email but just not my text messages.  They used to come through. I have checked every single setting on my android phone and on the Fitbit app to ensure everything is set correctly.  My phone displays text messages and even on lock screen with full preview/detail.  I have the settings correct on fitbit and nothing.  I have tried soft and hard reboots of both devices and factory reset settings on my Versa 2.  Still nothing.  Any assistance would be appreciated as this is very aggrevating and why I purchased this product.

I'm sorry to see that you've been having trouble to receive the text notifications. 

Before considering other options, make sure to check if the phone you're using is listed here as a compatible device to sync with the Fitbit app: Which devices are compatible with the fitbit app?

In addition, please check all the necessary requirements and if you already tried all the steps listed here  to resolve problems with notifications: Why are notifications delayed or missing?
