I ran the same route which I know is 4 miles twice, and once it showed me running 2.85 miles at a 14:45 pace, the next 5.2 miles at an 11 min pace. Crazy fluctuations I can't figure out.

Hello, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums @cbalthazar

Thank you for all the information you've provided about the inconvenience you've experienced with your Versa 2.

Could you please provide a few extra details about these activities? Let me know if you were tracking them using GPS, and if you were, let me know if you noticed the GPS getting disconnected at any point and if this happens with other activities or workouts.

In the meantime, please try to perform a restart and check if you continue to experience the same behavior.

Please keep me posted.

I've had this problem for over two weeks

I average about 25k steps per day, my daily mileage is usually half of what perform.

I got it working finally -- but have to do the following: (1) turn off
power saving mode on my cell phone; (2) turn of wi-fi on my cell phone; (3)
set goal in Fitbit app to distance instead of steps.

I think wifi and power saving interfere with consistent GPS detection. I'm
not sure if the app setting really makes a difference, but the combination
of these things worked for me, so I'm sticking with it. However, it is a
pain to have to change the power saving and wifi modes on my phone every
day - and if I don't then my battery doesn't last long enough. This is
probably my last Fitbit.

Thank you for your replies @JosephMary @cbalthazar

@cbalthazar, I've sent your information to the Customer Support team for further assistance, but it seems that you already got in touch with them about this. I do recommend that you continue the communication with them so they can let you know how to proceed.

@JosephMary, could you please provide the information mentioned here earlier and confirm if you already tried the restart procedure as well?

Keep me posted.
