Your fitbit tracks floors by measuring changes in air pressure through a small hole in the back of the fitbit. If this hole becomes blocked then it can cause this problem.
Try cleaning it with, for example, an old toothbrush or a can of compressed air. Don't poke anything into the hole though as this can cause more problems.
It will also not track stairs if you pause during the climb

I am having the same issue. As part of my workout at home, I have been going up and down the stairs in the house, trying to hit 25-30 flights a day. All was well until 2 weeks ago and it seems as if it changed after charging my Versa 2. Now when I go up most of the time it does not count at all. I checked to see if the meter looked clogged or blocked and it looks fine. I have shut off and restarted my fitbit as well.
Any other suggestions are appreciated. Miss having this feature as it makes me focus on getting more and more flights in!
Thanks!!
