Versa 2 open other app while hiking

While versa is in hiking or any exercise mode and you want to use altimeter app to see the altitude, you are not able to. 

Does anyone know how to open app while in exercise  mode?

@mxarun   Unlike the timer/stopwatch app that can run in the background, the exercise app must run in the foreground.  Sorry.

that is not good. I wanted to use altimeter while hiking. 
not an efficient device.
