Since a few days the screen of my versa 2 is very dark. At times it's so dark I can' t see my steps. Has anyone experienced this before and does anyone know what I can do about it?

Please restart your watch as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.
