Versa 2 shows steps without being worn

I purchased a Versa 2 three days ago. When I put it on first thing in the morning it shows that I have walked 160 steps.

How is that possible since I had just put it on?

My Charge 2 always starts out at zero. Shouldn't the Versa 2 be the same.

Has anyone out there experienced the same problem?

@whitekat Welcome! It's great to see you around! 

Let me help you with your Versa 2 showing steps in the morning. Is your Versa 2 near any vibrating surface (maybe near a fan, computer or even alarm clock)? Does it have any alarms set to the time you aren't wearing it? In these situations your device might pick up the vibrations and record it as steps. Still you can try restarting it by following these instructions.

Thanks for your reply.When I put it on this morning the steps were at zero.As you mentioned in your email that an alarm might affect it. I did have an alarm set and I actually turned it off yesterday.I can see how it can affect the tracker as the alarm is pretty intense.Thanks again,Whitekat
