My device is 4 months old yet the button isn't responding anymore; i've never dropped it.
Here several posts report a similar issue yet i found none confirming resolving it!
Suggestions welcome...

Hi @ilift and warm welcome to the forums.
I appreciate your message, and I'm sorry to hear that the button of your Versa 2 is unresponsive.
Regarding the button, if you haven't already, I recommend trying to remove any dust or dirt by gently using a toothpick or swab around the button. If this doesn't improve the button's functionality, you can try cleaning out the debris using compressed air. Hold the watch at arm's length and spray once to loosen any dirt or dust that may have accumulated around the button. Once this is done, restart your Versa 2 by following these steps: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Thanks for sharing suggestions, restarting didn’t help, nor cleaning up the button.
looks like a genuine mechanical issue. Reported to fitbit they said they can’t help.

@ilift Does it feel like the button actually depresses or just springs back? Mine hasn’t worked for quite awhile. There’s an issue where the screen becomes loose which effects the connections underneath. I had to re-glue my screen last yr to secure the connections & it fixed this prob but now my button isn’t working again so I suspect it’s the same prob as before. Button connection has become loose internally & no longer engages.
Apple Watches had a similar prob yrs ago where the screens lifted from the battery overheating. They did a recall & ppl were given replacements. Wouldn’t it be great if Fitbit did the same? I’m not holding my breath 😔
