Versa 2 step count accuracy issue

Bought this watch, due to my Charge3 not charging, this morning I did my hour on the exercise bike and my steps were 4000+.

Put the Versa2 on charge while I had my shower, when I unplugged it, I found out I had managed to reach 528,634 steps on the watch.

Is this a known problem, if so its going back!
