Versa 2 step count accuracy issue

I've done about 4k steps today. I noticed it was accurate for an hour - give or take - and then it suddenly was below 3k. Now it's over 20k and I've never done much over 10k. Is there something wrong with the servers?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared. For a better understanding of the issue you're experiencing, can you please clarify if the step count change on the Fitbit app or your Versa 2? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? Only steps are being affected or other stats too? In the meantime I receive your answers, please restart your Versa 2 and delete the steps that were erroneously added following the steps that are specified on this help article.

I first noticed it on my Fitbit tracker. I checked the app and it reflected the low step count too...when it was around 2.7k. They were syncing with each other accurately. I was charging my tracker and decided to add my mobile while it charged. I was looking at the app and it shifted from the 2.7k number up to 20k while I watched the main screen. I logged out and back in, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, with no change to that 20k number. 

It affected the miles and active zone time as well? It said it had been 94 minutes of active time, but I know I'd done half that. The miles showed 9+ miles. That's wrong. Maybe up to 2 miles would be accurate.

Also, I'm attaching two pics. One reflects the wrong stats. So wrong stats include computed calories (maybe?), miles, active zone, and especially the step count.

Second is an image showing my two tracked activities of the day are accurately logged but the erroneous extra 16k (or somewhere in that range) steps don't show up when I look at the exercises?

There isn't a button to insert the image unfortunately. Sorry. When I hit reply here, it shows two rows of buttons for a second and then simplifies it to five buttons. (Cancel, bold, italics, bullet list, hyperlink)

I’m having a similar issue. I’m sitting on the couch ripping up mail and my step count has gone up about 75 steps.
