Versa 2 - strap change

I just upgraded to a versa 2 from the charge HR and REALLY WISH I HADN'T. I've seen multiple complaints online about people not being able to change the strap and I am now one of those people. The rubber straps that were provided do not fit. I've spent an hour trying to get it in but no dice. I can't wear this with a woven strap for exercise. Fitbit - this is ridiculous.

Hello @mmeads and a warm welcome.  I have also struggled changing these bands.  It was never as easy as in Fitbit's video.  I bought a watchmaker spring bar tool and it made my band changing life easier.  I actually found this tool after a pin broke on my original Versa.  I bought a set that had the tool and replacement pins.  Fitbit redesigned the band and the pins aren't replaceable any more.

I always change my bands on a nicely padded surface.  When you get your classic band on, you will need to take it off from time to time.  The groove collects old skin cells and other sweaty gunk.  In my experience, changing bands gets easier and easier the more often they are changed.

I agree the bands are hard to change. I'm not sure it will help, but I made a video showing how to change the bands: https://youtu.be/VthDWcufCbg

I hope this helps.

Follow along as I show you how to do a Fitbit Versa 2 band change. This includes how to remove Fitbit Versa 2 band and how to replace Fitbit Versa 2 band. These instructions also work for the original Fitbit Versa as well as the Fitbit Versa Lite Edition. Where to buy = ...

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the advice. I feel it's a bit ridiculous to have to buy an extra tool to do something that should be simple to do. I guess Fitbit don't care.

For what it's worth, it's quite easy when you do get the hang of it. The trick is to get the angle right, once you get that you should be fine.

I agree, it does get easier. Strangely I find the woven bands much easier to put on than the elastomer ones.

Agree that the woven band was easier. Had to change mine, because the woven band was rubbing raw spots on my wrist and thought I’d never get the plastic band in, but it was all about the angle. It still took me a couple minutes of cursing, but I got it in there once I stopped trying to hold it flat.

Useless - impossible.  Will just have to buy another watch, not a fitbit!
