Yesterday I started the update Thatcher Fitbit recommanded. First my Fitbit stopped during  the update and than the fitbit logo appeared in the screen. Now the logo stays on the screen.

Hi there, @Elsdeleeuw. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 2. @JohnnyRow Thanks for trying to help!

Please note the issue you're having comes from performing a factory reset without first unpairing your Fitbit device from your Fitbit account and phone's Bluetooth settings. With that being said, I suggest following the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Versa 2 from your phone's Bluetooth and also make sure it's no longer connect to your Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 2.

If you can't get started with your Versa 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

If you continue having issues updating your Fitbit device, see Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

Curious what or who is Thatcher Fitbit?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hi Marre

Yesterday i noticed while trying to set a timer on my Versa2 , I was struggling to swipe on the screen or when a timer went off it wasn't recognizing that i tapped the screen to shut the timer off. I choked it up to either a low battery or perhaps something ie. residue or water on the screen.  Then this morning when i woke up i noticed I had a charge of 70%. Then during a doctor's appointment I went to go report my daily steps to my physician and right before my eyes my watch face went from the clock which showed 59% battery to a blank blacks screen to then the logo popping up. I hadn't even touched the side or button of the watch. When got home I searched the troubleshooting and found you mentioned that the stuck logo is usually because of a factory reset but I didn't do one. I also tried all of the steps you mentioned above and double checked that I met all of the technical requirements outlined in the various links and still no resolution.  Can you offer any other suggestions? This watch is actually a replacement from less than a year ago when Fitbit provided me with a discount because the watch I had that was just over the warranty had failed ( like several other ppl) shortly after an update had been released.  In this case there should still be a warranty on this one although I am hoping to find a technical fix as I really need the watch sooner than later as I use it to monitor my health because of the nature of my disability in addition to tracking for over good health like your other consumers.  I would appreciate anything you could offer as a suggestion
