Versa 2 touch screen not functioning

Same. I have been careful with mine. I keep it clean. Take it off when I shower and rarely swim with it on. I have a Fitbit watch face. I have done the reset and charged to 100%. But I still get stuck between 2 screens, trying to swipe down to get my notifications does nothing, when I track an exercise it won’t let me end it, it will push buttons I never pushed. Other than that it still tracks my steps and sleep and heart rate and everything it’s supposed to. I have had my Versa about a year and a half now. The screen has a few minor scratches from wear but nothing major. What can I do to fix it?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Tsx_02. I'm sorry to hear your Versa 2 touch screen is not working and thank you for mentioning the steps you followed in order to correct this.

Please try a factory reset if you can go to your watch's menu:

On your Fitbit device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset.

Let me know how it goes.

I have this same problem with my Versa 2 and also get a Green Screen. This is frustrating because the button hardly responds and will only turn the screen on and off. I can not swipe left or right, up or down, so the watch is seriously disabled. It still calculates data but I can’t access it on the  watch. I have no idea why it is doing this, since I follow the protocol for wear and care.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @LlaineM. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 also gets a green screen and that the button hardly responds.

Could you please confirm that you have restarted your device and that you tried changing the clock face?

See you around.

I tried contacting customer support and doing the factory reset several times and I kept getting this error screen saying reset failed. Because the touch screen doesn’t work I could not tap the okay button so now I’m stuck looking at that screen. Which is worse because at least before I could see my steps and my calls and notifications. Now I can’t see anything! So frustrating. And all customer support had to say was that I was out of warranty period but here have a promo code for 30% discount on a new one. So not helpful. I don’t think the solution is to just throw it away and buy a new one. Way to go green and help the environment Fitbit. Besides you’re the ones that made my Fitbit more unusable than it was why do I have to pay for it?

thanks for reporting.

I'm in a similar situation. My watch started not responding to swipes and now will not charge and is completely caput. So frustrating. I've only had it for 2 years. Not at all environmental. Trying to fix it but reading what's happened to you makes me realise that there might not be much hope.

Yeah anything over a year for Fitbit is out of warranty so getting help from them is probably hopeless. Maybe if you bought an extended warranty through another company though. Or if you can find someone that does repairs. It just feels so wasteful to have to throw it away when parts of it are still working you know.

I feel for you. It’s what happened to me, too. Mine was a year and a half
old. I bought 2 (one for me and one for my husband) which has an awesome
battery life (6-7 days as long as it holds the wifi connection). It works
just like it’s supposed to: tracks, alerts him off phone calls, texts and
alarms. So unfair, mine started losing its battery life probably right
after the warranty expired.. but I was still hopeful. However, it just kept
losing life and then I began seeing the green screen. I reset it and it
loaded and still tracked but lost the quick screen all together. I tried
resetting it again and it would work for a bit and then the green screen
would stay on. Customer service contacted me and we walked through the
steps until finally they told me that someone would contact me about the
warranty. They did but it was past the duration and offered me the 30%. I
am not sure I want another Fitbit but Apple iWatch battery life lasts only
16 hrs.
