As I aware, versa2 will capture the steps when we are walking/running.
surprisingly when we do ‘claps’ also it counting the steps, which is not expected.
I read some articles from community, we have to make some app changes when we are not walking or not running; which is annoying..
if this is the case, waste of money investing in versa2...
any thoughts on this?

Hi there @pradeept, welcome to the Community Forums. I am sorry to hear that you are going through this situation. I appreciate your feedback for the Fitbit Versa 2 step accuracy.
Please note that our main purpose is to avoid negative experiences to our customers, we're always willing to help and provide troubleshooting steps.
Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device count steps?
Let me know if there's anything else I may do to help you.

I am having the same problem. I use 2 apps to track activity Samsung health and the fitbit versa 2. Samsung health will have me at 10,039 while my fitbit says over 24,000. I know Samsung health is based on when I have my phone but I tend to have my phone on me most of the day. I switched to the dominant hand setting today while still wearing it on my nondominant hand to see if theres a difference tomorrow. Any other help would be appreciative. Thanks
