Versa 2 turquoise display

My versa 2 is less than six months old. In the last two month I've had a turquoise "screen of death". It won't power off. I have to wait for the battery to die and hope it charges and comes back to life. Today when it happened the back of my device started to get very hot. What is causing this, can it be prevented, nad is there an easier way to correct it when it does happen? Is this the beginning to the end of my watch? It's brand new and I'm not a fan of replacing smart devices annually or more frequently.
