Versa 2 will not receive notifications

Hello!  I just got my Versa 2 and it is not receiving notifications from my phone.  I've tried all the troubleshooting I've been able to find in the forums and on the web.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can try?

Hello there @GeekGirl82, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry for the late response. Thank you so much for troubleshooting the syncing and notification difficulties with your Versa 2 prior to contacting us. 

While reading your post I was wondering if the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices? You can see the list at: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance. 

I'd like you to confirm if you've followed all the steps provided in the help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and Why are notifications delayed or missing?

If so, let's try turning off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.

Then, disable battery limitations:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Fitbit app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization
  2. Change view to All apps
  3. Search for Fitbit app
  4. Choose Not optimized

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

My versa 2 got few days ago from Costco calls come through but not text messages.  Not sure what happened but all of a sudden just now saw text messages.  Not sure why.  No changes to the app or watch but it just started working.
