Versa 2 won't connect to Wi-Fi

Just got this Versa 2 for Xmas and ran through the setup. App said I successfully connected to WiFi, and the WiFi symbol showed on the FB. However, after setup was supposedly completed, it doesn’t respond to the wrist turn and upon checking quick settings, it shows WiFi as being off. I know I must be doing something wrong, but after removing the app and deleting associated data several times, I get the same results always. I’m fairly tech savvy but this one has me stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, @Grinderhand. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. 

If the screen wake feature isn't working on your Versa 2, please go to your quick settings and check that screen wake hasn't accidentally been turned off.  Swipe down from the top of your screen. After your notifications appear, swipe down again to open the control center. Tap the quick settings icon.

If this settings is set correctly, please try restarting your Versa 2 by following these steps: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

As for the Wi-Fi issue, please confirm if you've tried all steps provided in these help articles Why won't my Fitbit watch connect to Wi-Fi? and Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

My Versa 2 is having the same issue but my Versa 2 is several months old and the wifi did work until they did an update now wifi won't stay connected on the fitbit if you try using any of the media (music apos) it will disconnect you.  I've contacted support several times and still no fix.

To fix the display issue of your Versa 2, please restart your device following the next steps and let me know if the issue persists:
For Fitbit Versa 2, hold the back button for 10 seconds.
Let go of the buttons.
If you still have issues with your device, turn it off and turn it back on.
