Versa 3 problem: no sleep stages

This past month, I have rarely gotten sleep stage information. Only 2 days out of last 14.

Most days it says: "Your tracker could not get a consistent heart rate reading ..."

I have used Versa 2 and  Versa 3s for several years and never had a problem.

I tightened the strap, loosened the strap, switched from right wrist to left, cleaned bottom side of Versa 3. No success.

I did get a triple heart bypass operation on Dec 19, 2022 and am still recovering from it,.

I think there may have been a firmware update recently. I am not sure.

Has anyone seen the missing sleep stages issue with a bypass operation or a recent firmware update?

Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions?

I fixed it by making the wrist band very loose.

It seems OK now but, the Versa 3 slides up and down my arm.

@RichardMW , A warm welcome to the Community ! Thank you for your message and info.

The following conditions can prevent the recording of sleep stages:

- You record your sleep using the app instead of the tracker's automatic sleep detection.
- The tracker's battery is almost empty when you go to bed (below 25%). This prevents a regular recording of the heart rate.
- You use the metal bracelet while sleeping
- You sleep less than 3 hours.
- The bracelet is too loose or too tight on the wrist. You should be able to put your index finger between the bracelet and your arm without much resistance, so that your heart rate is recorded regularly and the sleep phases can be recognized.

Have you tried wearing the watch tighter or looser during your sleep?
Are the green lights blinking?

Have you tried restarting the Versa 3?How do I restart my Fitbit device?

I have tightened and loosened the wrist band several times. It does not make any difference.

I have restarted the Versa 3. It does not help.

Yesterday, I restored original factory settings to Versa 3 and then applied latest firmware. It did not help.

Today I tightened the band and will find out tomorrow if that helps. I also reconnected it to my wifi.

@RichardMW , Thank you for your efforts.

As your reset the Versa 3 to the factory settings, you might need  more nights to get your baseline recorded.

The Wifi doesn't really affect your sleep record.

Hope this gets solved soon
