Versa 3 won't keep time

My versa 3 won’t keep time.  It is sometimes off by 5 minutes in 8-10 hours after syncing.  It corrects after I sync but it should be able to keep more accurate time than it does.

Hi there, @MikeFinger. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 3.

While reading your post, I was wondering if by any chance you used to have another Fitbit device prior the Versa 3? If any previous Fitbit devices is still linked to your phone's Bluetooth settings, that might be causing connectivity issues with your Versa 3 and the Fitbit app and somehow, syncing issues what would explain why the time won't stay synced.

With that said, try the steps below:

  • Unpair your Versa 3 and the previous Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your new Versa 3 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 3.

After trying the above, keep and eye on your Versa 3 to see if the issue persists.

@MarreFitbit I have no issue syncing my versa3 with my phone.  My issue is with the Fitbit’s inability to keep time.  It should not be 5 minutes off over the course of a day.  I should not have to keep it synced with my phone to keep time.

So my versa 3 still won’t keep time.  The watch will be off by 5 minutes between syncs.  Is there a reason why this happens?

H> @MikeFinger  - a watch that loses more than a few seconds per day is faulty.

I sync my watch once every 4 or 5 days only and the time is still accurate.
