Versa - Crazy High Step Counts

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Not sure if anyone has been seeing this or not, but my Versa is incrementing step counts in the thousands while not even wearing it. For example, I just woke up with a step count of over 5,000 and I haven't even put the device on yet. Yesterday, my steps went over 32,000, and I really didn't do any deliberate activity to get me anywhere near that high of a count.

Anyone else?

I’m having the same problem with steps AND with calories. I just got the Fitbit versa and I woke up with it saying I took hundreds of steps along with burning over 700 calories and I just woke up.

I have the same issue and I think it is about time for Fitbit to find a solution as scrolling to the messages here a lot of people are experiencing the same.

Reset done a couple of times and no changes!

I guess the only solution is to return my Versa as soon as possible.

Hello @SunsetRunner and @Rae0824, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. I would also like to thank you for letting us know you're already tried some troubleshooting steps. At this moment, if you're still getting an unusually high amount of steps recorded while you're sleeping, I would like to sugges you to perform a factory reset on your device.

Please remember that Factory reset your Fitbit Versa to erase apps and all personal data from the device, including credit or debit cards you added (on devices that support Fitbit Pay), which is why It's recommended you sync your watch before performing a factory reset

On your device, open the Settings app > About Factory Reset or Clear User Data.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Hi Marco,

I guess this is the standard solution and, if you read my message again you will understand that I've done that a couple of times and it simple didn't help.Smiley Wink

I just returned mine...and got a new one. Let's hope this one will work.

I have an Android not iOS, but thinking there is no way I hit 18,000+ cleaning the house today. I'll continue to keep an eye on this. Traveling tomorrow. Lots of sitting, so steps should be low.
