Versa Distance and Pace Almost Always Incorrect - Can I Turn Off Stride Estimation and Use GPS Only?

I'm furious with my Fitbit Versa. Most days it shows my pace to be much slower than what I know to be correct and then suddenly I'll post a near personal best. I'm typically a 7'30" to 8'15" runner -- depending on time of day, heat index, etc. -- but my Versa typically shows paces at 9'15" or slower. When it posts fast times it's usually around 7'30" to 8'00". I've compared it against Strava (mind you it's using the SAME GPS SENSOR) and Strava records me correctly. I've seen about a 15% difference in distance measured. I've verified that the GPS sensor is enabled in the Run app. Its been set up to automatically estimate my stride length in the past -- a feature that clearly doesn't work as implemented by Fitbit.

So can I just force Fitbit to use GPS measurements only!? I'm not talking about manually setting my stride length, I just want it to use GPS data exclusively to bypass the poor stride estimation algorithm. I've had this problem for years and I can't believe it hasn't been fixed yet with a software/firmware update. If there's no way to force GPS-only tracking, I think I'm going to have to switch to a brand that provides accurate data. With 15%+ errors, the Versa is basically useless as a running watch.
