Is it common that the face of the Fitbit separates, leaving all of the electronics exposed?

I have seen a number of posts in the community where people have reported this problem so you're certainly not the first.

 

It seems that the problem is not repairable and I suggest that you contact customer support via contact.fitbit.com They can check your warranty status and advise on your options.
