Per fitbit support:
"It seems that there is an ongoing issue with the system causing the Fitbit to fail during the firmware update, despite trying different devices.
we are working on addressing this inconvenience in the shortest time possible so you can take the most advantage of the Fitbit Versa. We'll reach back to you during the next 48 hours.
If anyone has more information regarding this please share. This is an except from this post via @Sandy1970. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Versa/My-Versa-won-t-setup/m-p/2926050/highlight/true#M44485

I've repeatedly done all the steps mentioned as the best answer and had no luck. This was very frustrating. What TOOK care of the problem is setting up another new account with a different email address and plugging in the charger to PC.

MY FITBIT VERSA LITE HAS ONLY ONE BUTTON

After the latest firmware update around 4/24/20 the following issues have occurred with my Fitbit Versa:
My Fitbit Versa has not give a single day of sleep detail or a sleep score. The sleep function of my Versa has become basically useless. Sleep is checked in the settings on my Versa.
My Fitbit Versa no longer shows my heart rate on my watch. It shows only dots.
Any idea of what steps are needed to resolve these issues?

I’ve had this happen before, and from time to time. Your Fitbit needs your heart rate in order to provide your sleep details/sleep score. Good news: it’s easy to fix!
What you need to do is restart/reboot your Fitbit. You can do this by holding down the left (or “back”) and bottom right button at the same time until you feel it vibrate. You should see your heart rate being detected when you put your Fitbit on. I hope this helps!

I didn't understand the relationship between the heat rate monitor and the sleep monitor. The heart rate monitor stopped when the Versa was updated. However even after rebooting the Versa, it is still not showing heart rate. Is there are setting on the Versa related to heart rate monitoring that may have been reset to "off".

I’m not aware of a setting related to the heart rate monitor that could have been set to “off” when you completed the update. There have been times where I have had to reboot more than once to get the heart rate monitor to start up again, but usually it works the first time. I didn’t have the same issue when I ran the most recent update on my Versa, so I’m not sure that it’s related to the update. Others may have different solutions to offer if this doesn’t work for you. I hope it does—keep me posted on what works.

I have rebooted my Versa multiple times. Still no heartbeat reading on Versa at all, nor any heartbeat registering on the phone.. This started immediately after the update was done, successfully according to phone . I can look at the records on my phone and it shows that I had heartbeat activity through April 25th. The Fitbit versa heartbeat monitor stopped on that day which is the day the update was installed my on my versa. Everything else seems to be working fine.

I’m not sure how to solve the issue then. I guess you could try contacting Fitbit support or a google search to see if others are having the same issue and how they solved it. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help.
