Versa Lite GPS Connection Issues

I've only had my watch since May and within the last few weeks during my walks/runs when I periodically look at my watch where it says "connected" at top and shows my mileage it now frequently says "GPS lost connection" in bright pink. My app and phone are both running the latest updates, before I start my activity I wait for the "connected" indicator before I start my walk/run and I usually walk/run the same route which is wide open, so no interference. When I'm done in my app the map I walked/ran is a bunch of straight lines and now within the last week my mileage, pace, average pace and steps are off. I'm frustrated because I use this often and now I'm seeing all these negative comments about the GPS. I'm not sure what else steps I can take??
