Versa Lite - Swim Tracking

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve seen a couple of videos on YouTube which suggest the Versa Lite does not track swimming laps, but when I look at the spec on Fitbit for the Lite it does say it tracks swimming.

Can someone tell me if it does track exercise in the water please? Laps, etc?

thank you

It tracks that you are exercising and for how long but it does not track laps or calories burned.

Does it track calories for the other 15 exercises?

@Lizzyloo26 Hey, there! Smiley Happy

Thanks for jumping in! @SunsetRunner

On Versa Lite it can track calories burned for any of the exercise modes on the watch. Additionally, just wanted to point out that swimming is tracked by SmartTrack only.

Let me know if I can help out with anything else.

So is the smart track on the Versa??

I really want a watch to wear swimming and to track my laps. Was a second away from purchasing the lite and then seen that it doesn’t track laps. So so disappointed as this watch otherwise was perfect for what I need/use in a watch.

So looks like I have to pay much more for a watch with features I’ll barely use.

@Robyn26 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! So nice to see you here. Smiley Happy

Since you're interested in tracking laps for swimming, I think the standard Versa would be perfect for what you're looking for. The Lite edition was created to be more affordable, versatile, easy-to-use, with core features already well known in the Fitbit ecosystem. Hi did it just do this automatically? I have had a play with the swim mode in exercise and it wont pause. The only way to stop it is to reset the versa lite.

All my swims get picked up automatically and are accurate too!

I love that the Versa lite is swim proof! I was so excited to track my swimming for workouts. I was disappointed when I learned that even though it’s one of the few fitbits that’s swim proof it does not have a swim setting in exercise. If you’re already making it swim proof wouldn’t you want to have an interface to track it too. Since I have a lower budget I was excited that I didn’t have to buy something as expensive as the Apple Watch. Now i’m just Disappointed that It doesn’t meet my needs.

Did you have any issues with it after it being in the water? I want to wear mine when I go swimming but I’ve been told it’s not water safe and will only cause it to stop working.

I haven't had any issues. The Versa Lite is swim proof. And it does track
my swimming automatically. I just wish it had a way to look at my splits or
times and distances live while I'm swimming.

How does it track your swims? I am trying to figure it out and I can't

It’s supposed to automatically do it. It won’t track the laps unfortunately
as that’s not a feature but it shouldn’t take anything to get it to track
it. If not, you can input it manually in the exercise tab on the app.

So I don't need to do anything? I can just get in the pool, start swimming and it will automatically track the swim? When I am finished swimming, where do I view the exercise? I'm sorry for the questions. I am new to both swimming and the Fitbit. Thank you for helping me 🙂

Yupp as soon as you’re done it will stop tracking. And you can look at
through the exercise tab in the app. That’s where it will show the length,
time, and calories burned during the swim.
