Got notified I took 12,000 ish steps today. How is that possible while not even wearing the watch, it was at home the entire day. Anyone know how that is possible?

Hi there @nemich, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry for the late response. Thanks for the details provided.

Remember that the wrist Fitbits count steps depending on the movement of your arms, when you are driving or for example when your tracker is close to a fan. In those cases, your Versa Lite counts steps due to the vibrations. You can learn more about how your Fitbit tracks steps by checking: How accurate are Fitbit devices?

If it still seems like your device is undercounting or overcounting steps, try a step test:

1. Put your device on your wrist.

2. Walk 100 steps, making sure to count a step each time one of your feet hits the ground.

3. Pause, then check your device to see your step count.

If your device counted more or less than 100 steps, restart the device and try the step test again. For details, see: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.
