Fitbit Update: 4/27

 

Hi, Versa Lite Fam!

 

Today we're announcing a new firmware: Fitbit OS 4.1.2(version:70.7.27), which addresses and solves the firmware update issue that was identified and reported in this thread. Please update to this new firmware once you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app. 

 

If you attempt this new update and have issues, PLEASE FOLLOW these step by step instructions in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? 

 

DO NOT ever attempt a factory reset as a troubleshooting method for Versa Lite. Thank you all for your patience while a fix was put in place.

Hi Versa Lite users,

 

If you recently purchased a Versa Lite, or if you recently tried completing a firmware update and had issues our teams are aware of the problem.

 

We're currently investigating and working on a resolution. Please DO NOT perform a factory reset on the watch as a troubleshooting method. 

 

Instead, try the following:

  • Plug the watch into a computer and attempt the update over Bluetooth. You may need to resume the update if it fails a few times. Note: You must have the watch plugged into a computer to improve the chances of successfully updating. 
  • If you have more time available, contact our Customer Support and they can walk you through another method using a Windows 10 computer. 

As a side note, if you encounter any issues while updating it, please perform the troubleshooting mentioned in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

I just got a versa lite and the out of the box updates failed with the red x. Factory reset and updated failed with red x. Plugged the charger into my Surface and installed the Fitbit app from the MS store. Let the bluetooth pair happen on my surface (turned off BT on Android phone) and i am at this moment watching the update progress. It is slow but it is working.

Get the New Versa Lite .Hopefully it won't have these issues.I am praying for a similar resolution!

Hello,

 

I am currently experiencing this problem. I got my device last november and today it just suddenly desynchronized with my Iphone ans requested me to download the app to start. I went to the app, which was obviously already downloaded and in use right before such a notice, and it requested a firmware upgrade, I accepted and since then it has been impossible to use my device.

 

First it took forever to reach 100% and I had to tried like 10 times, now it just does not avance any further and the device starts asking again to download the app. I have tried all that has been posted here so please recommend something new. 

 

It kind of disappoints me that you have been reported this problem over and over and is still happening. I thought I had gotten a great gift, until now.

Request a refund.  Once they send you a refurbished replacement you cant get a refund.

Hi,

 

I have asked for a refund, the process is painfully slow! I do not want another Versa, it’s too ‘buggy’ and unpredictable for my liking.

My versa lite has been back on track and working properly after the help
assistance adviced me to connect it to a desktop and opt for USB recovery
option.
Hope it works for you also.

So guess what,

I managed to fix the Versa Lite with the computer, or at least it's working
now.( Wasn't easy at all) The problem is that now it has the same problems
it had after the last update, after I did the factory reset. So it's on,
but it's rebutting along the day to many times, sometimes the touch screen
doesn't work and I have to reset it and other times it's working just fine.
the worst part is when I'm sleeping and it suddenly restart by itself and
wakes me up. So I don't know what to do now! I read there's going to be a
new update, is this going to be fix or do I have to change my Fitbit ?

I couldn't update, so I did the worst thing I hit the factory reset. It does'nt want to load the fitbit app and it just displays the Fitbit icon. It tries to do the update but it fails after awhile. What do I do now....

I've versa (First Gen) and I think I’ve encountered this issue Oct’19. My watch is out of warranty. 

My problem started with the time drift in minutes on my versa, clock was running slow.  All my efforts to pair/sync my versa failed, even though my phone detected versa. 

As a final troubleshooting step, I went for a factory reset. And after that, my watch is unusable. All I see is Fitbit logo with the message, “To start, download the Fitbit app”. My phone is unable to detect Versa and Fitbit support had told me they DO NOT support software issues in the watch. 

Do we have any other way to pair my watch again?

Hi there,
Have not had much luck though I tried all ways-computer and otherwise to try syncing with the computer or app but refuses to do-have tried several times. Then it said there was an update which never has occurred till date in my watch.
I really need a new Versa Lite but if not available will make do with  a flex -2.

I have the versa and tried to do this latest update and it downloaded ok but once installed and it tried to reboot it is now stuck on a loop where the fitbit logo comes on then off over and over. Waiting for fitbit help line to come up with a fix?

I tried it and it did not work. Tired of trying I will just wait until the supe rfix but if not I will advise others not to purchase untila fix is created.

I bought a new Versa from Fitbit, not a refurb, many other people are experiencing the same problems.

 

I have opened a case with Resolver, who act on your behalf when fighting companies who will not refund.

Hi, I'm having issues with my Fitbit. It's not about the update, it's about my notifications not coming through to my device. Are you aware if this is part of the update issue?

I really do not know....honestly, I do not know what is my next step? Wait for a fix may take awhile or even longer. But I received mine for xmas and it didn't last long.
