Versa Lite miscounting steps

My fitbit app doesn't always count the correct steps I do. I was in a challenge last week and it miscounted by over 20k steps. I have fitbit premium and versa lite watch and huwaei Pro 20 can anyone tell me why this keeps happening

To better assist you and further investigate, can you please let me know if this affecting only the Challenge or your overall stats? In other words, the steps are being miscounted on the Challenge itself or your profile? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? You are experiencing this issue with steps only or other stats as well?
