Versa Lite and same issue.
Only mine wouldn't sync at all as well as wrong time. To the point where I attempted a factory reset and it wont reconnect

If you're unable to setup your Versa Lite after trying our factory reset procedure, I recommend you to check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? to check if all the requirements are correctly configured to setup your device. Then, you can move on and try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.

Unfortunately the fitbit will no longer turn on. I thought perhaps it had just gone flat but it has been on charge for a few hours with no response to the charger or to holding down the button.
The charger was working fine the other day so don't think that was the issue.

It's odd that your Ionic is no longer turning on, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation
