Versa Lite syncing process is slow

Hi there,

 

I bought two Versa Lites for my wife and I. 

 

We both own Huawei P20 Pro.

 

I set my Versa Lite at work and it installed smoothly not taking much time at all. (LTE+ Network).

 

I am now at home doing the same thing and the update appears to be cripplingly slow. If I was to guess as it won't tell me percentage, possibly 20% after 1 hour.

 

We have fiber internet 100mb Download / 15mb Upload.

 

I tried restarting the Versa Lite (10sec) and removing the tracker from bluetooth list. Along with that I removed it from the account she has.

 

Restarted the set-up process and it restarted the download resumed at 20%. Yet it seems to still be cripplingly slow.

 

Can we shed some light on what could be going wrong.

 

I will also note before setting up the device (Product Brand New Sealed) when I was taking off the wrapping to expose the charging it showed up screen Sync Failed (something like that) with a red cross. I ignored that and continued with the normal installation process.

@Oshinz welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Versa watches since the syncing process takes along time to complete. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

 

I'd like you to try one more workaround that has been helpful for this type of issues. Please try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. 

 

Finally, make sure that your phones have the most recent Fitbit app version installed. If the app is up to to date, try logging out of the Fitbit apps, restart your phones, open the apps, log in and try syncing both watches in order to see if the issue gets fixed.

I in the end left it sitting and after about two hours it had completed its
installation.
