Versa Lite - update failed, erase data failed stuck in loop.

Hello, I recieved a versa lite for christmas and have been loving it! Everything went well until when I replaced the band.

I accidentally held down some buttons while putting the band on, and performed an "erase data" unsuccessfully. I got a screen with a red x in a circle saying "erase data failed. Sync and try again" tried reading some solutions to no avail.

I tried syncing to my phone however as soon as I tried that my phone said the watch needed to be updated. I attempted an update multiple times over the course of many hours with no success. I have had a few different results with this between the update not loading at all, getting all the way to 80% and failing, to actually dropping the completion % of the update each minute (like from 50% to 40, to 30...)

I would simply not update the watch but if I dont it goes back to the screen "erase data unsuccessful. Sync and try again" and I effectively have a watch that's just a bricked screen 😕

Tldr; versa lite is stuck in a loop between an unsuccessful erase of data and and unsuccessful update 😞

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Mskwa2000. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing the details of the issue you're experiencing with your Fitbit Versa Lite. I understand how you're feeling as you received the device for Christmas and would like to continue enjoying the Fitbit experience. Thank you for your troubleshooting efforts. I recommend to plug the charging cable into a computer and try to update over Bluetooth again. You can confirm the complete step-by-step instructions in this help article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes.
