Versa Lite won't turn on or charge

I have had my fitbit versa lite for over 2 years and the first year I had it, it wouldn't update after having it for a few months, got it fixed and 2 years later now it won't charge or turn on. I absolutely love this watch but I don't have the money to replace it despite having it for over 2 years.

Hi there, @Jasminemw9395. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa Lite. I understand where your concern is coming from.

As @SunsetRunner has suggested, I'd suggest trying the following steps:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the above steps don't work, I'd suggest performing a restart by following the steps below (please remove your Versa 2 from your phone's Bluetooth before performing this step):

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
    2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.

You can follow the steps to set up the device after that: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

Hello @Jasminemw9395

Its possible that the charger is bad and needs replaced. Look closely at the pins…do they look bent? Inverted inward? Maybe it simply just needs cleaning. Look at directions on image below) If the charger is bad it certainly won’t charge your Versa lite. You can purchase replacement chargers on Amazon for a reasonable cost: https://www.amazon.com/EXMRAT-Fitbit-Versa-Charger-Charging/dp/B07RLRW2JV/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=fitbit...

Also check the back of your Versa Lite. It’s conman to have bits of dust and debris but it’s important to keep it clean to get a good contact with a functioning charger. It’s quite possible it needs cleaning as well. Look for tips on cleaning your Versa lite image below) If the problem persist after a good cleaning then I’d consider taking a chance on a new charger. It’s certainly cheaper then replacing the Versa Lite. Of course there’s no guarantee as it may be the Versa Lite has lived it’s lifespan

🤞😉 I’m hoping it’s just needs a bit of cleaning. Fingers crossed. Let me know how it goes

This actually started a few days ago I went to the lake and I had it in the water for like 2 seconds, it even says "water resistant" on the back of my device and I took it off and let it dry in a bag of rice. After that it started glitching and the screen got dark and now it won't turn on or charge.
