Versa Music Controls Not Staying Paired

My Versa only connects for music controls when in pairing mode. It stays connected for about a minute or until I exit my bluetooth controls on my Galaxy S9. Wondering if it is a problem with the Versa or with my phone? Have already restarted both and unpaired/repaired them.
