Does anyone know where I can get definitions of all the Push Notifications, located under Privacy & Security, in the mobile app, e.g. Low Battery (self explanatory), Step Goal Milestones, New Badges, Friend Requests, Messages, Cheers & Taunts, Challenges, etc., etc.?  I can't find definitions anywhere on the FitBit site or in the User Manual.  As of now, I have most of them switched off because I just don't know what they do. Thank you for your help.

These simply set which notifications that you want to be notified of. They simply enable/disable what you want to receive. 

I'm not sure which ones your not sure of since they seem to be self explanatory to me. 

Can you point out the ones in question, rather than the ones understood.
