Hello,
Since the past week, my Versa has been syncing with the app on my android phone even with the GPS off. I keep my Bluetooth on to connect to my headphones and my phone is still syncing the steps and heart rate with the GPS off. When I open the app, it says "Enable location to sync", however the steps and the miles data are the same as it shows on the watch. Does Fitbit no longer need GPS for syncing or is it accessing location even with GPS off on the phone?
Thanks.

Fitbit went to an 'always connected' mode (via bluetooth) and will periodically sync in the background. GPS has nothing to do with this at all.

Having Location services enabled does not turn on the GPS.
As for needing location services, as for as I know Android still requires it enabled.
