Versa Turns Off Randomly

Recently, my Fitbit Versa has started turning off randomly, even when the battery is fully charged. The only way to get it turn back on is to put it in the charger. At first it showed that the battery was fully charged still, until the last few days it now shows a 0% battery message when it turns back on. I have done a reset several times and also a factory reset. It has come back from the factory reset once, but only lasted for about 5 minutes before it shut off again. Anyone else having this problem? It started about a week ago and is super frustrating because I’ve only had this watch for 6 months!

I’ve given up on my Versa 1. It dies as soon as I take it off the charger. Now it won’t wake up even in the charger. I’ll give Fitbit one more try. My new Versa 2 better last longer than 2 years.

That needing to charge time is way too frequent. My Versa has been needing a charge every 3 1/2 days.. until this problem started anyway... My biggest issue with the Apple Watch is the needed frequency of charging it...

I have the original Fitbit Versa purchased back in April 2018 and it has worked fine until the most recent update. It started randomly shutting off and the battery was draining SUPER quick (less than 1 day when it typically lasts 3-4 days). Now I can't even get it to turn on. Really frustrated and hoping they release another update to correct this issue. I will NOT buy another Fitbit if this is not resolved.

I bought mint in September 2018 and now I am experiencing the exact same issue you have. I charged it to 100% yesterday, Today it died with zero battery just over 24 hours later. It’s essentially a paper weight. Fitbit’s ignorance concerning the the issue will push me to another tracker any time now. $200+ for a device that doesn’t last 2 years due to sloppy software is unacceptable.

Thanks for your response. I’m ok with them now but every 36 hours is
unacceptable. That’s why I don’t have an Apple watch.

Update:

I spoke to support. They recommended a factory reset, which I did. 35
minutes later I have restored my clock face and setups. We’ll see if it
resolves anything. Others say it fixes the shut-off problem but the charge
still lasts less than 1/2 of what it was. No rollback for the firmware
update is available. I’ll keep you posted on my results.

That sucks! I did get the shutting off randomly fixed through customer
support so you can try that.

FitBit is the absolute worst! I'm on my second Versa in 14 months! The face fell off the first one, so they sent me a replacement. Now the replacements keeps flashing the FitBit logo and will not do a factory reset. I've contact customer support and since I'm 2 months out of the original warranty date (not the replacement piece of crap they sent me) they can only offer a 25% discount!!! What is that!!! I really only want an exact replacement and they can't help me. They aren't even offering a reason as to why my Versa just randomly stopped working! Guess I'll be getting a Garmin.

Sorry to hear about your experience. The feedback I have been getting
seems to be more negative than positive. Mine worked like a charm for the
first 4 months and then took a downturn.
It is hard to believe that FITBIT can’t see the negativity piling up and
not doing anything about it. When this one hits rock bottom...I will
definitely invest in something else.

So I was able to do a factory reset on my Versa this morning and it was
working fine for about six hours. Now it just shut off again despite the
battery level only being at 78% and it keeps going through a boot loop. I'm
highly suspicious of the most recent software update they pushed out and
really hope there is another update soon to fix this problem. Super
frustrated.

I don't think a software update would even help me at this point. Mine just flashes the Fitbit Logo and won't even factory reset. I can't sync it with the app

I’m sorry. Mine seems a bit better. We’ll see how long the charge lasts. This was a really reliable device until the last firmware update. Unless this is a ploy to sell new devices to users of older models, you’d think they would fix it. My confidence in Fitbit has really been shaken by this turn of events. I will not likely invest in another if it continues to be a problem since it’s clearly created by the update.

Mine was doing that last night. I left it on my nightstand all night so it
would die completely and then put it on the charger this morning. After a
while of being on the charger it turned all the way on and I was able to
get to the menu to Factory Reset it.

I have tried to let it die completely then put it back on the charger and I still only get the logo flashing. At this point it's just a charm or paper weight.

Hi Super Frustrated...I feel your pain. I suggest calling their customer
service line again and see what they say.

I again wanted to try and let it die completely then put it back in the charger to see if I could get it to work and I can't believe it, but that worked! It was dead for 3 days, I let it charge for 2 days and this morning when I took it off the charger, I could actually see the clock face and not the logo. So I reinstalled the app, and my device and all seems to be working fine now. I'll post again if this is only temporary!

Good news! Mine has been holding up well since I was able to do the same
thing... Let’s hope it continues to.

I'm so glad that I didn't listen to customer service and spend another $200 on a new device.
