Versa - Wrong Distance

Hi,

I have had my Versa for a while now & have loved it, I have the issue where it won't show text messages but I am kind of used to that now as it doesn't seem like it is ever going to be sorted which is very disapointing.

Over the last couple of weeks it has now started logging the wrong distance for my runs (I haven't chnaed any settings, only done the updates), I have been doing the same route for months and it has always logged the correct distance of 10k, for the last two weeks when I have gone out it is logging  anywhere from 7 - 8.5, this is really annoying, I know I know how far I am going but I like to see the speed I am doing to see if I am improving my times - has anyone else had this issue?

Many thanks,

Lorna.

I've had the same issue. Spent 45 minutes on webchat to Fitbit Support. They told me the Versa doesn't actually use GPS to track distance 😂😂

He said the Versa uses stride length and steps to calculate distance. I asked how it calculates stride length and he said distance from GPS and steps taken. He didn't seem to get the glaringly obvious.

After I had pointed this out he trotted out the line that my phone wasn't on the compatible list, even though it had been accurate for 12 months before the inaccuracy arrived.

As a result my Strava tracked run was 3.99 miles whilst the fitbit measured it at 3.38.

Fitbit just don't want to admit they broke the Versa with the last update.

Thank you for the reply, I wish they would just sort these issues out, going to try again this weekend and if no joy start saving for a Garmin!
