Versa battery draining fast

First time poster on here...

I have just got a Fitbit Versa and did the full charge and set up etc. I turned off the always sync and the enable always connected. I also made sure to turn off quick view so that doesn't waste battery. The description of the battery life states that i should be getting 4 ish days battery life (I was expecting 3 to be honest) but with only very minor use mine is draining 4% an hour roughly so after a full day it is basically at 0. I am having to charge it every day when i get in from work.

I do use it to track my time on the bike for an hour each night so i understand that may put a little strain on it but i would like to think that it performing what it is meant for shouldnt drain the battery to much.

Is there something that i am missing or do i just have one with a dodgy battery?

The same thing is happening to my Blaze it came on suddenly. I was used to my device needing to be charged every 2.5 days, where it now needs charged twice per day.

It feels as if an update got pushed out that caused this, how else could it come on so suddenly? Remember when Apple was exposed for slowing down old phones (ostensibly so people would buy new ones), it kind of feels like that.

Thanks for the advice, It has now randomly started being normal. After several days of it only lasting less than 24 hours now it all of a sudden has only used 15% in 48 hours. I haven't changed anything.

So... yeah no idea. But i will take the resolution haha.

Hi 🙂 My battery was draining so fast that after a half of a day I was at 0%.

I found if I do a boot loop (rebooting in cycles) 6 times in a row the battery's lifespan improves.

To do a boot loop hold the left and also the bottom right button. The screen will eventually go black and then the Fitbit logo displays. Just keep your fingers on the right and left bottom buttons.

After 6 cycles of rebooting let it go to the clock face screen.

If you find that this doesn't work for you then shutdown through settings and it's like a reset.

I hope this works for you 🙂

Hi thanks for responding!

My Blaze actually died entirely about 2 weeks after initially posting so
I bought a used one off of eBay.

My Versa is loosing power in just a few hours.  I will try this and see if it gets fixed.

If you still have issues turn off all day sync too after the boot cycle. Unless you do want to sync all day.

I don't have the all day sync on and have tried reboot and other things. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've had my Fitbit Versa for about 16 months. When I first got it, the charge would last four days. Now it drains in two. I'd rather not have to change the settings, as I've had difficulty with my Fitbit app (Android) reading my Fitbit.

Has anyone else had an issue with the battery after having a device for over a year?

I have had my FitBit Versa for over a year and am having the exact same issue. I have the automatic connect and sync turned off, and the battery drains completely within 12 hours. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I did a hard re-set several time and nothing worked. I ended up having to get another one.

Thanks for your response. I was figuring that would likely be what I need to do. 😕

I've had my Versa for a year and three weeks (I just checked the order date on my Amazon account). Until recently it had the full four days or more life, but in the last two or three weeks this has dropped to two days. I haven't changed any settings, and like you I find the Android connection very unreliable. In the end I worked out that I have to stop the phone app and clear its cache once it's decided not to talk to the phone.  I really like much of what the Versa does, but when it dies I will probably go elsewhere because it has a couple of really annoying features, and for £170, a rather short life-before-landfill.

Gotta love planned obsolescence.

I also have a Versa and my battery life is less than 8 hours. I have done all the tip and tricks, even reset to factory settings. Now I don't know what to do, the battery life was up to a week and now all of a sudden it's gone down to nothing. It charges to 100% but doesn't keep its charge at all

Yesterday I went to check the time, and the display only showed the battery icon and 0% though it had been 50% earlier in the day. The usual 25% warning hadn't come through, and 24 hours previously I'd charged it to about 75%. It charged to 100% this morning, but I am going to closely watch it (88% now). It is still under warranty and I don't want it to fail too late.

I changed my screen from auto to manual. It's been perfect ever since. The battery lasts way longer too! I used to have to charge my versa 2 every day, I've only charged it once this week and it was at 62% when I put it on the charger!

Interesting, I've always had it on automatic so the time shows without me having to use both hands, but I could try that if things get desperate. But it was the sudden going-flat without a warning that concerns me, because this has never happened before..
