Versa battery dying

I’ve head my Fitbit Versa since July 2018, and haven’t had any issues.  Yesterday I noticed my Fitbit was dead and I had just charged it the 2 days before.  So I charged it again and changed some of my notifications thinking I might be getting a lot and it’s draining the battery.  Then today at lunch a little over 12 hours and overnight it’s dead again.  I don’t get notifications at night.  I do have a 3rd party clock, but I’ve had it for several months.

I had a very similar problem and they replaced my device. Please follow the steps below to conduct a battery drainage test:

How to perform a battery drain test to see how long your Versa's battery lasts after a full charge:

  1. Disable the features that can impact battery life as described in: Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life?
  2. Fully charge your tracker.
  3. Sync your watch 5-6 times a day (at least three times a day, this is important for us to check your tracker's battery behavior)
  4. Wear your tracker until it is fully depleted.

When the battery is completely drained, meaning that your tracker is no longer responsive and you no longer see the low battery indicator, contact Customer Service to let them know the day you fully charged your tracker and the day it was fully depleted.

I hope this helps!!

I just charged it to full battery at noon and it’s 2:43pm and dead again.

Did you follow the steps to disable the features mentioned in step 1 before charging your device (Can I improve my device's battery life?)?

If yes, contact Customer Service and report the date/time the device was fully charged and the date/time it died completely.

If you did not disable those features yet, please do so now and recharge your device (noting the date/time it is fully charged). Once fully charged, sync the device 3-6 times, wearing it until it dies (noting the date/time it dies). Then contact Customer Service and report the date/time the device was fully charged and the date/time it died completely.

I have had the same problem. My Fitbit was lasting 3-5 days regularly, and then recently, within the past week, it has been dying in the middle or at the end of the day. I have been having to charge my Fitbit every night, sometimes multiple times a day, I’m lucky if I make it home with some battery left. I have all of the notification and battery draining features turned off. I’m Really disappointed in the company. However, a couple of weeks ago I could use my notifications and still have my Fitbit last at least a 2-3 days. Not to sure what happened to cause this all of a sudden. This is my second Fitbit from this company, and I’m now considering switching to another brand.

Same thing is happening to me. Would hold a charge 5 days, now I am lucky if it works one.  This just happened in the past month.  I haven't even had my versa a year.

Hey man, I suggest you switch. Around October of 2019, much like it seems, had an issue where my Fitbit ionic would not respond, track steps, heart rate and the battery would drain in 3 hours. I tried everything on this forum and other forums and even contacted corporate but was only given an option for a discounted ionic (75$ off) or a Fitbit versa LITE. I decided to switch to Apple. I suggest you do the same if you’re on iOS. Apple Watch series 3 is the same price and the only thing it doesn’t have is the spo2 monitor which Fitbit hardly uses in the first place.

Yes I’m very close to switching to an Apple Watch. Thanks.

I had the same issue with my Versa. Fitbit had to replace the device which was good however, after several months of having the replacement, the apps started opening on their own and then the device died. I recieved yet another replacement earlier this year and last week, the screen stopped working and then it died.  I am past my one year warranty so fitbit is only offering a discount towards the purchase of another device which does not seem logical since I have no confidence that my new purchase will not die as well.  Seems to be an unfortunate flaw with the device.  Good luck!

I’ve had the same issue. Battery just started dying after 15 months of my Versa 2. The only response that customer service had was 35 percent off. Despite having Fitbit products for a while, I’m done. A $280 watch that lasts just over a year. Having seen other reviews, it’s clear that this is an issue. I’ll be moving away from Fitbit

My battery died 2 years a day from when I started using it.  It was a Father's day gift in 2019 and died the day after Father's day in 2021.  All they offered was a 35% discount on old models (not the new Luxe), and the 35% does not apply to tax or shipping.  I agree this is too short for a product like this to last, and I am done with the Fitbit, and I will warn everyone I know about the short life of the Fitbit watch.

My battery died (said I needed to replace it) shortly after it stopped keeping its charge. You cannot replace the battery!! This was around the 3 year mark. However, I have had so many other problems with my Fitbit Versa 2 throughout those few years it amazes me that this product is not or cannot be improved. Waste of money and time troubleshootin. I would advise anyone not to waste their money.

My Versa never worked from the first day I got it at Christmas and it was one with the pink band and a rose gold color. I have made many videos and **ahem** it in the past because I’ve had every Fitbit they’ve ever made starting with the Fitbit flex. The versa was the most expensive one I’ve ever owned and it was the worst. I bought the Apple Watch and did not like the Apple Watch either as it would only hold a charge for five hours and the Apple Watch would die. I am Jeannie Jones spa girl on YouTube and I will be making a new video on their response to you giving me a discount after my versa battery died on a new tracker. I will buy one of the cheaper ones in case it has issues. Check out my YouTube channel  to see how it all worked out with Fitbit.

Same outcome for me too...
they offered 35% on new model - so basically they accepting this short life of device (<2 years). Am done with fitbit too.. Threw versa away and removed fitbit app
