I drive a truck for a living, just wasted $200 on a Versa, it counts 1000 steps every 17 mi of driving sitting on my butt! Need a fix or a refund.

I drove from Indiana to Tennessee to visit my son, 8 hour drive, while sitting in the drivers seat of my car I apparently walked 25,000 steps and 350 floors!!!

I used to have the charge 2 and receive the charge 3 as a present. It is terrible will be returning it. It counts massive amounts of steps just by driving. There is no acceptable solution  even though other threads say it is solved. I was frustrated enough that there is no easily readable clock face comparable to that on the charge 2  but the steps issue is a deal-breaker for me.

I have this issue on my new fitbit charge 3. I feel ripped off. If the steps are massively increased from driving, the device is useless. I will return my charge 3 for sure.

We shouldn't have to fix this ourselves. You should fix your product.

Unacceptable!  Why would I want to use a device that doesn’t record areas that it is supposedly designed to properly record? Why should I need to go back and spend my time deleting improperly recorded steps/stairs/hrs? Suspect my heart rate is also not as accurate as a strap on HR monitor. I drive a truck for a living and on a schedule most days. No time for this!  Unacceptable!!!!

I'm a garbage truck driver  and I have the same problem I get out of my truck quite often to move dumpsters but I noticed that 10 to 15 mph it stops counting but there's a lot of times I drive that range so it sucks I would like to know why it does it

Why has this been marked as solved?! It’s not solved! A $200 device should know the difference between driving and walking. Simple as that. I’m returning mine.

Where can you establish driving as an exercise shortcut? I don’t see a way to do this.

I’ve been here a yr and a half , my Fitbit has counted up to two million steps in a year, I drive a truck for a living sitting in a seat for at least 10 hrs per day , I’ve complained a month into buying mine . Nobody cares they got my money . Well guess what I bought a Garmin and I will not recommend to anyone I know Fitbit ,probably the most unprofessional company I ever delt with !!!
I know this will probably get censored and nobody will get a chance to read it but rest assured I will let everybody know what a joke Fitbit is !!! Thanks for nothing !!!

I’m sorry you’ve had such an awful time of it. Glad you found a new device that works for you. I’ve had other fitbits for years and years and NEVER had this problem. I had the One for several years and then an Alta. I found them reliably accurate. I’m so disappointed to find this problem in the Versa. I hope they find a serious resolution but it looks like they won’t. It’s frustrating that their older devices didn’t have this problem, so they must know how to create a more accurate algorithm!

It seems like there may be a more elegant solution. My phone is with me when I drive. I have shared my location data with you. You can looks and see that my phone is travelling at 70mph which means that I am not walking or even running, I'm driving... disregard that data automatically for us or at least tag it and ask if we want it deleted. As is, it doesn't even show up as an exercise event, so I can't delete it. Please fix.

I'm a driver too. I shut my watch off while driving to stop it counting.

From home screen on watch, swipe left 2x, click settings, scroll all the way down, click about, scroll all the way down again, click shut down.

To turn it back on, just push the button on the side of the watch and it will come back on in a few moments.

Thanks. It is not the most elegant solution, but it works. Much better than getting bad data.
