Versa counting steps while sleeping but not sleep

I just got my Versa a few days ago, had a Charge2 before that. The Charge2 is no longer paired to my phone, only the Versa is. The two nights it has counted that I had 5000+ steps while I was asleep. I had it on while I was asleep. It is also not tracking my sleep correctly. I went to bed around 1130p last night, it shoes I went to bed at 244a. I was not restless in those 3 hours where it would count me as being awake.

I never had these issues with my charge2, I chose the versa over an apple watch to track sleep and steps. Doesn't do me much good if it is not counting my sleep and also telling me I apparently walked a couple of miles while I was asleep.

Help!

@LJProk Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! Sorry to hear that your Versa is counting steps but not logging your sleep. You can start by restarting your Versa by doing the following:

1.- Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
2.- Let go of the buttons.
3.- If your Fitbit watch doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

Wear your Versa on your non dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on your Versa's settings and see how it behaves. Also check that there aren't any vibrating devices (like a working ac unit, a fan or a computer) as this may affect your Versa.

Let me know how it goes!

So I did all of that yesterday and it did not work. Woke up this morning with over 6400 steps while I was asleep. And despite having gone to bed a little before midnight and slept until 715a it showed I fell asleep at 133a and was up at 430a. The two main things I use my fitbit for counting steps and tracking sleep. With neither working I am highly dissappointed in the Versa and wondering if I should have gone ahead and gotten the Apple watch instead 😞

My FitBit One finally died and the One is no longer available.  It worked perfectly for me especially since I don't like wearing anything on my wrist.  I got a Versa because it says it can be used while swimming.  I find it giving me credit for many more steps than I actually take.  It seems to register every wrist action as a step.  It also failed to register my sleep.  It also registers more stairs than I take.  I am very disappointed in the Versa while  I had been happy with my One for five years.

It really doesn't make sense to say not to have a computer nearby.  Most of us work with computers on a regular basis.
