Well my Versa has stopped syncing. Last sync was apr 19!!! Android phone.
The only way I could get it to sync was to open the app and charge the
Versa. This is no longer working for some reason. What is the latest update
for how to get it to sync?

ONLY way I can get my to sync just to update is unpair in bluetooth, unpair from fitbit app, restart my phone, then pair up again with the versa on the charger.. its a huge pain, but the only way I've been successful to update. Very frustrating.

I agreed. I believe Fitbit doesnt keep their alp update w mobile. Mine is Sony Xperia XZ3   sucks. At anytimes it will stop connecting to the phone and results without GPS location data, or everytimes after recharge it demonstrates the mentioned problem or failed to sync.

I did upgrade the app. Catastrophic exp! It said no connection to server for 8 hours. Didnt know why and how after dedperately reboot it came back.

There was twice it stopped tracking heartbeat for hours.

Recently it gives i consistent calories data. A session workedout like hell, same the face told me from other particpants, can give less than a relax class. Obviously the watch didnt track down all data during the workout. Why.  🙄 I dont know.  Anyway I plan for a Garmin

Hello @LazyKelly thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @PattieL1108 and @trossell

First of all, I would like to apologize for the delay in the response. @PattieL1108 I would like to thank you for having come back and let us know your issue has now been resolved, I'm very glad.

@LazyKelly thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. Please note that the Sony Xperia XZ3 is not listed as a compatible device. Please note that many phones, like yours have all the hardware requirements to be a supported device but are currently not on our list of supported devicesThis means that we have not tested it for compatibility and added it to the list yet. For the time being, we don't have an specific date or time-frame of when is going they will be listed as compatible.

While these devices has all the specifications to be compatible and are currently working with the Fitbit app, it's possible to come across some issues along the way.

I appreciate all your feedback about this situation and will make sure to forward it to our team, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I wanted to send an update to this larger group of the solution that finally worked for me.  It included the phone/Versa reboots that most have attempted but ALSO included a step to clear the phone storage cache prior to the reboots (On my S8 this is accessible via Settings->Device Care). GIve this a try on your Android device.

Thank you for your reply and the list of model provided. Not happy of
course.
But the watch itself does have a lot more problems, I can see on the watch
the data showed is not right. How can a cardio workout 60mins resulted 42
KJ burned. It keeps on having various annoying issues.
I have reboot and reboot it. Everytime give a 😲. See this my sleep record.
Hopeless. Really unreliable.

Just got my new Versa last week, wearing as a watch and what it's intended for, no problems. Loving it and comfortable. I've upgraded from a Blaze. Never had any issues with syncing, until now though. The number of dropouts and not connecting is unbelievable. I've had quite a few Fitbit's dating back to the Fitbit Flex, Charge HR, Blaze and now this. My wife has even had the Surge which had no issues like this. But I've never had so many issues with Bluetooth syncing. Seems to definitely be either a firmware issue or something in the original coding as it seems to have been there since day 1. It syncs with my Fitbit dongle pretty well at home, but I shouldn't need to do this. I have it set up for all-day continuous sync as I've always done and it's hit and miss. Trying to add apps is like pulling teeth! There must be something the coders can look into and add in a firmware update? I've tried and done all the usual "fixes", but to no avail.

They told me my model of Android phone is not supported. I looked into their list of supported the phone is so outdared. Mine runs on Android 9 Pie, it is nothing new!  Fitbit really has to brushup your app developer. Versa is full of problem not just sync problem Everyday I found something unbelievable. The night before my sleep recored is a whole 'restless night'. Good Job!  I ride bike it auto stopped and never move on.  I got a blank map with just a red dot instead of the trail.  I danced intensively but only 42 calories burned and recorded in the first 5 min.  It shows on the watch there are something very wrong already.  I wear this only 3mths.  Anyone dare to try Versa?

Hello @LazyKelly@CakeOD and @mfawcett I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply.

First of all, I would like to apologize for the delay in the response. @CakeOD thanks for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried in order to resolve this issue on your side, I'm very glad this finally worked for you.

@mfawcett, I appreciate you have let us know about the issues you're having with your Versa. At this moment, I would like to gather some information from you so we can check this further:

  • Phone model you're currently using.
  • OS version running on it.
  • App version installed (go to the app > Account > Help to get it)
  • List of troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

@LazyKelly I understand where you're coming from and our developers are always working to add more phone and tablet models to the list of supported devices. For the information you're providing about your sleep, exercises and calories burned, I would like to suggest you to perform a factory reset on your Versa. The factory reset will remove apps, stored data, personal information, credit and debit cards (for Fitbit Pay-enabled devices), and saved settings, so please sync your Versa before proceeding.

To factory reset your device:

On your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data.

After that, you will need to set up your Versa as a new device, so please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

Give this a try and let us know the outcome, we'll be happy to help.

@Julie431 Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with the syncing issues that you are experiencing with your Fitbit Versa.

I'd just like to know the following details that will help me to determine the cause of the issue:

- What is the brand and model of your phone?
- What troubleshooting have you tried? With this, info I will avoid providing steps that you already tried.

Looking forward to your response! Smiley Happy

I have not been refering to a phone. The smart phone I have is not supported by Fitbit. My problems have been with my HP computer which has Windows 10.  The only way I can get it to sink is to restart the computer every single time I want to sync it.This is a real pain and has been going on far to long. There are many of us out there having sync problems and they are not getting fixed. The last software update brought me this problem.  I did not have it prior to that.

I have Android Samsung Galaxy S9.

If you look through the threds I have literally tried EVERYTHING suggested. Only thing I can occasional get to work is unpair my device, restart my phone and bluetooth, and repair my device to get it to update. THIS DOES NOT FIX ANY SYNCING ISSUES. Only updates and Syncs for that moment.

It truly stinks to have spent $165.00 and it only works for 62 days. I
won't ever buy anything from them again. You would think that with this
kind of problem that someone would be working on a solution.
Frustrated by the whole thing.

OK, this is not going to be a popular message, but since my initial reply, things seem to be working a thousand times better for some reason. I've rebooted it, removed my old existing Blaze that was attached to the Fitbit App and ensured everything is up to date. Samsung Galaxy S8+.  All Day syncing and seems to be working 99% of the time. Think and believe it is a firmware issue still, but as I've said everything is ok at present. Occasionally misses a few notifications and the Heart rate seems to be out by a small bit, my resting heart rate is 68 when on the Blaze it was around 63 and I'm pretty active and fit IMO.

Running with the latest update on my Andriod as well. And battery life seems to be not as good as the Blaze, can just scrape in 4 and a half days roughly, maybe 5? And some apps like Spotify HR are pretty dodgy and connection of the wi-fi. Currently, I'm enjoying it now since the problems seemed to have been sorted somehow??

I've been having the same issues with my Fitbit as well. It's so frustrating. I shouldn't have to take all of these steps to sync my watch everyday. If I don't delete the versa and re-add it, the watch won't sync.

I absolutely agree, and I spent more than that. I so wish I would of returned it. I give my Fitbit Charge HR to my son and it wouldn't be fair to him to take that back. 😡 Very frustrating there has been no solving this issue.
