Bluetooth/Versa keeps randomly disconnecting. No rhyme or reason as far as I can tell, I just look at my settings and see that it has disconnected. It's a pain to have to keep resetting it.

After years of owning a Charge 2 which had a rock solid Bluetooth connection, I upgraded to a Versa 2 (Black Friday) and started seeing the connection problem. I know how to reconnect and that always works, until it disconnects again which happens multiple times a day. Based on Fitbit's response, they are either unaware this is a widespread problem (unlikely), or, they can't or don't know how to fix it. I suspect it's a design flaw that can't be fixed - maybe a hardware issue?
Like many others on this thread, I love the watch but may need to return it for what appears to be a fatal design flaw.

I fixed my Bluetooth issues by upgrading to a Samsung Note 20 Ultra. Fitbit should be ashamed of themselves for marketing their products for devices with which they're not compatible.

Also having the same issue. Was very excited to get my Versa 3 but nothing seems to be working right. Disconnects by itself, doesn’t sync right. Think I’ll send it back and just she’ll out for the Apple Watch. This is ridiculous and frustrating!

I have the same problem and i have the Samsung Ultra Note 20 and this is a DAILY problem...i have to keep re-starting my phone or toggle through all the steps above. The last software was the worst. I am at my witsend.
They need to fix this because this is NOT the first time i am writing in about this. All the fixes are temporary. I am about to give up and use a different watch. I am so done!
I thought it was just me who recognized that we are just getting the runaround and they are not acknowledging the problem. The interim 24 hr fixes are really frustrating. They need to do better.

My guess is this is a hardware issue because fitbit is simply unable to fix
it and it's a wide-spread issue. I've come up with a couple things that
help.
1) Make sure fitbit has full time access to GPS and not just when the app
is running.
2) Make sure your versa is connected to bluetooth. Sometimes it just get's
disconnected.
3) About once or twice a week I have to go into "apps & notifications" on
Android 10 and force the fitbit app to stop AND clear app cache. When all
else fails this step works for me.
I should note that before my Versa 2 I had a Charge 2 for 2-3 years. It
never disconnected once during that time.

Hey those were good suggestions.
I just figured out a pattern which I hope helps others.
My Versa 3 stops syncing with my OnePlus 7 every time I leave the house (or disconnect my WiFi). It doesn't work with my mobile data or even on my office WiFi or any other WiFi.
Every time I come back home I see the "last sync" is when I left the house.
Then, upon turning airplane mode on and off on my phone, it syncs again. (Turning bluetooth on and off itself didn't work).
Hope this is helpful. See if the rest of you have a similar pattern!

This is the worst Fitbit device I’ve ever owned. It keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth multiple times a day no matter how many times I go through the troubleshooting steps. Fitbit fix this issue!!!!!

Having the same problem with my OnePlus Nord. I have tried everything... reconnecting bluetooth devices, reinstalling FitBit completly, restarting watch...
My 99,9% solution is is simply to reboot my phone! On doing that I will have sync.
Was going for an extra watch but with this sync issue and lack of support and fix, I will be looking for complete different solution I guess..even going IOS.
FitBit fix it !

I am in the exact same boat with my Versa 3. I just bought the thing in April, there is no reason for it to not be working. I have a Google Pixel 5. I can go into the fitbit app and manually sync it to get my steps, but I can not get it to connect via bluetooth to my phone so that I can get texts, emails, calls, etc.... All the SMART features that I purchased the watch for. If I just wanted to track my steps, then I would have gotten a basic model. I have updated both my phone and watch, I have disconnected and reconnected, I have even reset my entire fitbit. Nothing works. It will not connect. Beyond frustrated with this product.
I don't even see the option to do all day sync in the app. I am not sure what I am missing.

That's interesting because I found a used Samsung Active 2 and decided to buy that for myself. It is great, EXCEPT, the battery life is horrible. Best you can get is MAYBE a full two days if your work it right but still a great watch aside from that 🙂

I shut off iphone, and blue tooth. Keeps doing the same thing; I click Fitbit App and immediately it disconnects. When I check my phone blue tooth is still connected. Received an alert two minutes ago that I was beating a friend in workweek hustle, and then I checked my settings and it showed fitbit versa 2 connected. 🤷:male_sign:

Same issue with my Versa 3. It kept constantly disconnecting until I decided to do a factory reset. I was then asked for a software update which is now taking 5+ hours and hasn't finished yet because the watch doesn't stay synced whilst updating. I contacted the support page and was told it's normal that it can take "a couple of hours", but surely 5 is not normal!
Hopefully the update will finish at some point today and the constant disconnect stops.

Had first Fitbit lite replaced under warranty due to syncing issues. Now second device has started doing the same, fed up resetting absolute rubbish and so unreliable it doesn’t even keep the correct time! Never again will I purchase inferior Fitbit products with obvious widespread Bluetooth issues.

It may be because your phone is closing the Fitbit app in the background.
I had to manually change the permissions to manually managed and always on. This was the cause of my sync issues.
It will be in settings-apps-fitbit-power management.
You want to turn off automatic power management as your phone may be seeing the app as idle and closing it automatically, causing it to stop syncing.
Hope this helps
