Versa keeps dying

I am on my third versus replacement. I am wondering if anyone else is having difficulties with their versa needing to be replaced every three months? I only swim once a week but it seems to happen after I go swimming. I recently purchased the charge three and was hoping that it was more waterproof than the versa appears to be. Any ideas or suggestions?

Typically, product design happens in the next generation - maybe Versa 2 is better.  They are probably waiting to get this batch sold and out of warranty.

I don’t ever get mine wet and yet I’ve needed a replacement every 3 months. This time Fitbit won’t replace because it’s been one year and 3 months since the original purchase. Sadly, I will never purchase Fitbit products again and neither will my family. My mom has had similar issues.I’m very disappointed in the product and customer service.

I quit using the Versa after the 4th replacement died; none of them lasted beyond 3 months- pretty bad tech. I definitely won't be investing in this product again. Alternatively (bc I wasn't ready to invest in an Apple watch), I purchased a cheap tracker ($35) on Amazon - that did all the things I was looking for: counting steps, heart rate, sleep monitoring, etc. Albeit, the tracker is not as snazzy as the Versa- I've had it on for just shy of 4 months- & it's still working- so what the heck ! 🤷‍:female_sign:

Same. I've had a Versa Lite for about a year and they are sending me my 4th replacement. I asked if I could get a refund as this is a constant inconvenience for me and is probably costing them tons of money to replace every few months, but they said they won't refund past 45 days after the purchase was made. Ok. Whatever, it's your money. Once the warranty is up I'm going Apple watch.

I am about to call for my fourth verse as well. The first one died in the middle of my first 10K. The second after I jumped in the lake for a few minutes, the third decided it would stop tracking everything accurately.

I am also beyond frustrated and feel at this point I should be given  the new Versa 2.

I am about done with Fitbit and may just switch to Apple.

I am so happy I came across this thread so I know it is not just me! Got the Versa for my birthday July 2019 and it died after about three months. I used to put protection covers on it that would sometimes trap sweat so I figured that was why. Still didn't think it was acceptable that sweat on a water resistant fitness watch would cause it to break after three months, but still decided to give it a second chance.

I made note of this when I got my second one and didn't put any protective covers on to make sure it didn't trap sweat. Never wear it in the shower or swim with it. Watch still died within a couple months for no reason. I had to start complaining on their instagram (they respond to comments which I give them credit for) for them to send me another one since they tried to say I was only allowed to get one replacement.

I am on my third one now and now it no longer tracks my heart rate. Sensor has been off for almost two weeks. I've restarted it, turned heart rate on and off, and even reset it to factory settings at the request of Customer Service and it's still broken.

They try to market this as a cheaper alternative to Apple Watch and it truly is not. It only costs half the price of an Apple Watch for a reason. Just a bad product that really shouldn't cost over $100 for how often it breaks on it's own. It seems people have better luck with their trackers that are not "smartwatches", so they really should just stop there.

Update: After my last posting I was told by customer service that they would send me a replacement. Instead they sent me a charger. What?! I called back about a week later to complain again. This time the rep had me troubleshoot (hard reset, attach to charging cable, etc.) while on the phone. When nothing worked she looked up my warranty and told me it expired. They base it on the date you purchased your original device, not the latest that they sent you. The most she would offer was a 25% discount on a new one. What a joke! I asked to speak to a supervisor and she was no help at all. Said the same thing. Warranty is for original device and only lasts a year. I told them they were scamming customers by selling a known defective product and she simply apologized for my experience.

I originally went FitBit over Apple Watch because of the price and because it was marketed as a cheaper alternative. Instead, I wasted money on a crappy FitBit, wasted a year of my time constantly on the phone with Customer Service and waiting on replacements. I will definitely buy an Apple Watch now and won't ever go FitBit again.

Plus I'll be writing a formal complaint to FitBit Corporate and the Better Business Bureau.

Same problem for me. Have had two fitbits now that completely died ( stone cold dead) after a simple lap swim in the pool. Not sure I'm willing to take a chance on a third one when I don't know a single Apple watch owner who had that problem...
